Walking to the edge of a three thousand-foot high precipice is an unforgettable experience. From the Valley Rim the great depth of the chasm is breathtakingly evident and the crowds, so common below, are pleasantly absent. The rim trails weave in and out of magnificent forests, delicate meadows, and offer views of classic geologic features. These full day hikes are rated moderate.
